Wedding budget
A wedding budget that actually adds up
Set one budget for the whole wedding, record every expense with its vendor and its due date, and log payments as you make them. At any moment you know what everything costs, what you have paid, what is left to pay and what you have left.
Getting started is free: plan the whole budget without paying. You pay once, per wedding, when you publish the invitation.
The shared spreadsheet always ends up lying to you
It starts clean: a few rows, a total column, a deposits column. Two months later three versions are floating around the group chat and nobody remembers whether the photographer's deposit actually left the account. Adding up is not the hard part. The hard part is that a spreadsheet warns you about nothing. It does not know the total already blew past your budget, it does not know the venue is due on Friday, and it cannot tell paid from still to pay.
What the expense tracker includes
28 categories ready, plus any you invent
Momentio starts from a catalogue of 28 wedding categories with their subcategories, and you add whatever is missing. A category groups expenses: it shows their total cost, what is paid and what is left to pay, so you can see at a glance which group is eating the wedding.
Planned payments and real ones
Every expense holds its payment plan — deposit, second instalment, final balance — separately from the payments you have already logged with a date, a method and notes. What is left to pay never gets mistaken for money that already went out.
Alerts before it becomes a problem
Momentio flags overdue expenses, payments falling due this week, and the exact amount by which the total cost has gone over your budget. If the wedding grew, you raise the budget from the same panel.
Vendors, documents and export
Keep each vendor's phone, email and Instagram next to their quote, contract or invoice. When somebody asks to see the numbers, you export the lot as a file that opens in any spreadsheet app.
From the budget to the last payment
1. Set your budget
Enter how much you want to spend overall and in which currency. That is the only ceiling: there is nothing to divide between categories. Create as many categories as you like to group the expenses; Momentio suggests the usual ones for your wedding so you never start from a blank sheet.
2. Add every expense
An expense carries its amount, its category, its due date and the vendor's details. If it will be paid in stages, you write the whole schedule down on day one.
3. Log payments and watch the alerts
Each time you pay something, record the date and the amount. Total cost, paid, left to pay and what you have left recalculate on their own, and the alerts tell you what has drifted off plan.
A budget beside your guest count
What a wedding costs hangs on a number that moves every week: how many people are actually turning up. That is why the budget and guest list live inside the same wedding instead of separate files. When somebody confirms or drops out, check the real headcount and adjust catering or bar costs with the right figure.
- RSVPs from the invitation give you the real headcount to size catering and the bar against.
- Check payment dates and planning tasks inside the same wedding instead of maintaining separate calendars.
- It all lives inside the same wedding: you log it in the app and review it in Momentio Studio on a computer, same numbers.
Questions about wedding budgets
How much does a wedding cost?
It depends on the guest count, the city and the kind of celebration, so no single figure works for everyone. The useful move is to start from the total you can actually spend and log every real expense under it: Momentio suggests the usual wedding categories, and the sum tells you whether it fits your budget or you already went over.
Can I keep the budget in my own currency?
Yes. You pick one of 11 currencies when you set the overall budget, and every amount, payment and export uses it. There is nothing to convert by hand.
What happens if I go over budget?
Nothing gets blocked. Momentio shows you exactly how much you went over and which categories weigh the most, then you can raise the budget to match reality or keep it as it is so you can review later.
Can I get the data out to show my family?
Yes. You export the full budget with its expenses and payments as a CSV file that opens in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets, and share it with whoever needs to see it.
Stop chasing versions of the same spreadsheet
Create your wedding, set your budget and log the first expense today. You do not need to pay anything to get it all in order.
